The Wraparound Approach to Services Offered by BACS

A child and forensic psychiatrist with a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Joseph Kenan earned his doctorate from the University of Oklahoma and then completed fellowships at UCLA. Dedicated to philanthropic efforts in the local area, Dr. Joseph Kenan contributes his expertise as a psychiatrist to Bay Area Community Services (BACS).

BACS has grown and expanded throughout the years, shifting its mission to focus specifically on the link between socioeconomic status and mental health. In order to answer the complex needs of underprivileged individuals and families, the organization operates under its “wraparound approach.”

The BACS Wraparound Approach involves a comprehensive method of services that supply a supportive structure to empower each individual to flourish. These services include areas ranging from housing support to trauma and behavioral health issue treatment.

Throughout the process, the organization maintains a focus on the individual, looking at his or her unique needs and existing strengths. BACS wants all people to build on their own developed resilience and skills to achieve success and independence.
